Community Engagement: In-Theatre

In-Theatre

In-Theatre Performances are abbreviated performances presented to area children from various school settings. Public, private, and home school students in grades K-12 are invited to these performances. Prior to the performances, students may participate in a docent program where they move through interactive stations learning ballet history, vocabulary, and see costumes and shoes. Complimentary cross-curricular materials are provided a few weeks prior to the performance to link the children's art experience to their academic learning. After the performance, the artists return to the stage and children are encouraged to participate in a question and answer session. Tickets for these performances are only $4 per student thanks to the wonderful support of sponsors who believe all children should have access to professional quality arts productions. Over 3,000 students attended In-Theatre shows last year, most seeing a dance production for the very first time.
